Who Is A Good Candidate For Chin Augmentation?
Individuals who have a normal dental bite but a small or receding chin make good candidates for chin augmentation. The enhancement of the chin may also be considered alongside rhinoplasty for individuals who are interested in improving their nose shape or size.

Do I Have to Get a Chin Implant?
Chin augmentation may involve implants. Medical-grade silicone is one of the most popular implant options. Medical-grade silicone implants are both durable and elastic, enabling them to look and feel like natural facial tissue.
There are some patients who prefer a non-surgical approach to chin enhancement. For these people, we may achieve moderate augmentation using dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® VOLUMA™. Fillers are made from biocompatible hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found in our joints, eyes, and skin. A product like Voluma has enough density to build a scaffold beneath the tissue of the chin without the need for downtime. However, results gradually decrease over approximately two years. Our fillers are done through our medspa, Butterfly Medspa & Wellness, located right next door.

Chin Augmentation Surgery
Chin augmentation is typically performed as outpatient surgery. A patient may receive general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. An incision is made either just under the chin or inside the mouth. This, as well as the type and size of the implant, is determined during our initial consultation. The implant is inserted through the incision and fitted over the natural chin bone. It is then secured over the front of the jawbone. The incision is closed and covered with a dressing.
With any surgery your post operative period is imperative to the success of your surgery. We will provide you with detailed instructions to care for yourself after surgery.
Will I Have Noticeable Scarring After Chin Augmentation?
Incisions do result in surgical scars. Chin augmentation is conducted through incisions placed in an area where resulting scarring is discreet, if not altogether hidden.
